Transferring a Domain Name to Us
In this step-by-step guide we cover how to transfer a domain from your current hosting provider to us.
Prior to transferring your domain, you need to obtain a code from your existing domain name provider in order to authenticate and approve the transfer.
This code is often referred to as an EPP code or Auth Code and if provided, can be found by login into the account where your domain name is registered. If you can't find it then contact your domain name service provider and ask them how you can locate or retrieve it.
Also, some domain name service providers have a Registrar Lock, which if enabled, prevents the domain name being transferred away. If present then be sure to disable it before proceeding with the below steps.
Once you have your EPP Code / Auth Code in your possession proceed with the below steps to submit a domain transfer.
- Navigate to the Transfer Domain page, enter the domain name to be transferred in the Domain Name field, enter the EPP Code / Auth Code in the Authorization Code field and click the Add to Cart button.
- Next you can select additional options such as DNS Management, ID Protection and Email Forwarding. We recommend at least ID Protection to help protect you from email spam and telemarketing phone calls.
- Leave the Nameservers as ns1.turbowphosting.com & ns2.turbowphosting.com and click the Continue button.
- Check the details are correct on the Review & Checkout page then click the Checkout button.
If you do notice an error when reviewing and checking out then click on the Edit pencil icon to make any necessary adjustments.
- Complete the Personal Information section ensuring all information is accurate.
- Enter a secure password and confirm it in the Account Security section.
We recommend using the Generate Password button to generate a secure password then use a password manager to store it securely.
- Choose your preferred payment method and enter the required details.
- Feel free to join our mailing list, select "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service" checkbox and click the Complete Order button.
Congratulations! That's it. Please allow about a week to 10 days for the domain to be transferred to us.
